Thank you for considering Latham United Methodist Child Development Center for your child. Latham has offered a half day Kindergarten and Preschool program to the Huntsville community since 1964. We opened our full day Child Development Center in June of 2008. Below you will find a brief description of each class offered. Please feel free to talk to the director and to visit the classroom before you make your final decision about enrolling your child.
2011-2012 Full Day Classes Offered
We offer classes from 7:00am until 5:30pm Monday thru Friday with a flexible drop-off time. We offer Enrichment classes of music, motor skills, library/story time,science, and art, as well as hold Chapel each week for children ages 2-4 years old.
The Nursery offers small class ratios with 1 teacher per 4 children. Parents are asked to send diapers, wipes, formula and food each day. All bottles, food jars, and other items are to be labeled with child’s name. Daily care reports will be sent home outlining diapering, sleeping and eating patterns. There is a maximum of 7 babies per class with two teachers.
The One Year Old class offers small class ratios with 1 teacher per 6 children. Parents are asked to send diapers, Wipes, and a lunch each day. Children must be off the bottle and using a sippy cup and eating table food before entering this class. Daily care reports will be sent home outlining diapering, sleeping and eating patterns. There is a maximum of 12 children per class with two teachers.
Preschool skills are taught with an emphasis on language development and socialization skills. Children DO NOT have to be potty trained. Parents are asked to send a lunch each day. No pacifiers please. There is a maximum of 8 students per class with one teacher.

Kindergarten readiness skills are taught to four year olds who will enter Kindergarten the following school year. Parents are asked to send a lunch each day. There is a maximum of 12 students per class with one teacher.

No bottles please. Sippy cups allowed. Maximum of 5 students per day. Two Year Old Class
Offered 2 days/T TH/$125 month or 3 days/M W F/$150 month Age appropriate Preschool skills are taught with an emphasis on language development and socialization skills. Offered 3 days/T W TH/$150 month or 5 days/M-F/$200 month Age appropriate Preschool skills are taught with an emphasis on social, cognitive, language and physical development. Children MUST be potty trained. No sippy cups please. Maximum of 8 students per day. Four Year Old Class
Offered 5 days/M-F/$200 month Kindergarten readiness skills are taught to four year olds who will enter Kindergarten the following school year, as well as, further development in social, cognitive, language and physical skills. Maximum of 12 students. All classes have a $60 non-refundable Registration fee and a
